i have been wanting to try a android box for sometime now so i thought i would try this one as i have roku and a firestick this is fun to play with very fast and has great picture mainly used to play different sd cards in that i have so many different types and this has played all that i have so far.

Decent, But A Little Painful
Having all Rokus in my house, I wanted to try an Android-based box to get an idea of what they’re like and how they function. The unit is built well, and I like the Wi-fi indicator light and clock on the front of the unit, and since they are displayed in a blue color, they’re easy to see. You have an HDMI port and a USB port, and to my surprise, an ethernet port. The unit is easy to hook to a TV and you are up and running relatively quickly.However, that is when my personal pain began. The item description says the units are running Android 13.0, but mine says 12.0 in the system menu. I configured my Wifi and tried to update it, and there weren’t any updates available to my box. No big deal. When I opened the App Store the remote didn’t seem to work to navigate through the apps to choose them for installation. On the home screen, YouTube was already added as a shortcut so I did get that running and it looked great on my 4K TV. When I tried to view some MKV full-quality DVD rips on my USB drive, the player had all kinds of small, snowy artifacts in the video. Definitely would not use this to watch video from the USB port from a flash drive ever again.I don’t know Android, but it seems like there are some modified apps on this unit. For example, KODI is shown as “KD Player” on the home screen. It looks like some of the apps are developer specials and may not be supported well. Hard to say, but this unit’s UI is not as polished as I was expecting, and I would never tell my wife to use this because she would be confused and probably call me negative terms for unleashing it on her/the family.The most frustrating part is the remote. It doesn’t come with batteries, but I expected it to. It seems like its only mode of functioning as a remote is to point it directly at the unit, so at first I was about 15 feet away and nothing was happening when I pressed the remote’s buttons. I literally had to move a few feet from the unit and carefully keep it directed at the unit’s front. That alone keeps this out of my entertainment area. Also, the buttons sometimes respond and other times need to be pressed really firmly to get feedback on the UI.The bottom line is the unit does seem to function as intended on some level, but the poor remote and UI would steer me to something else.

Works great, for supported apps. Excellent picture. Plenty of storage.
My previous android TV box had only 2GB of memory and could not load certain apps. I’d hoped upgrading to 4GB would allow me to use the “Sling” app, but it still had problems loading (only a blank screen). Although the DIsney+ app is preinstalled, the updated version of the app is not compatible with the device either. Neither was Pluto TV.I am, however, able to us the Prime video, Paramount+ and Tubi apps. The home screen has a nice interface for launching the Chrome web browser and which ever apps are customized to appear there. Netflix also seems to work, although I do not currently have subscription. The preinstalled 64GB of storage is more than enough for me.

Keeps Restarting
Unfortunately, it keeps restarting and won’t stay running long enough to try and have it check for an update. I tried multiple cables as well and no luck.

difficult to use
honestly? It does turn on and work. starts up quick. But netflix doesn’t work. You have to run plex, and stream through plex. I was wanting a more standalone android TV experience. This is not it.You have to do a lot of tinkering in order for this to work.I will say I have a Piehole set up and this did not ping any servers in china, so at least it isn’t spying on me more than any other electronic device.

Ho appena iniziato ad usarlo e non ho avuto alcuna difficoltà. Installazione semplicissima anche se consiglio vivamente una tastierina aggiuntiva per non impazzire a scrivere con il telecomando. I film su youtube sono perfettamente fluidi e non ha mai perso il wifi. Per quello che costa va veramente bene

Je suis globalement satisfaite du produit, mais je trouve que la télécommande n’est pas très adaptée. Il faut y ajouter un clavier et/ou une souris parce que sinon la navigation est compliquée. Vraiment. Il faut prendre son temps en somme.
